Baby Sitting Piggies!

Meet our guests, the three little piggies! They originally belong to Mochi's previous human, she had to leave her pets for a while to go on a family trip out of the country. We're not really open for fostering, adopting, or piggy sitting, but their human was so desperate to find a care taker, eventually we said okay. And now here we are... Temporarily living with six piggies (including me, Panda).

We forgot their real names, so we're calling this guy Kevin...
Fluffy...
and Bryan...

  1. Hello!

I couldn't find your email so I'm commenting on your last post :-)

I am selling Oxbow and Kaytee premium pellets and fresh hay. I order extra when I order my piggies' food so I thought of selling to other piggie parents as well.

Please check Facebook.com/SpoiledPiggiesPH or text me at 09237449496

    Thanks! :-)

    1. They also ran out of Hagen pellets oh nooo :D Versele is good, I like both brands, I just didn't like the previous batch of versele they had because it smelled moldy. It's also nice to interchange brands, that way piggy gets some variety :)

I will post more... when I get the time muahahaha

    2. Do you know of any upcoming cavy shows and if so do they require pedigree pigs?

i have tried looking at the PCFI website but there are no updates

    3. They don't update their website anymore, they post all their show scheds in their FB page https://www.facebook.com/pcfionline?ref=ts&fref=ts. And if you want, they're not the only ones who host shows, try searching in FB "guinea pig lovers tambayan sa facebook", and "caveman cavy" (a breeder and a member of PCFI who host his own shows).

Any pig can join, unlike dogs and cats, guinea pigs don't have "breeds", by that I mean you don't need a pure line of this and that to officially call it a merino/alpaca/peruvian, you get those from genetics. The breed is based on the fur type and numbers of rosettes. The show is more like a beauty contest, they have categories and stuff. For more fun there's also an eating contest and a best in costume contest. :D

    4. So saying if you buy a garanteed healthy peruvian from cartimar he or she can win something like bes in show or best in breed?

Do they have stuff like best in show and best in breed?

    5. Any pig can win, it depends on their looks. I'd always discourage people from buying any pets from any pet shops. If you want a show pig, get one straight from a reliable breeder, it's practically the same price but better quality in terms of health and looks. The ones you see in pet shops are rejects sold to them by breeders or a result of pet mills (over breeding animals in poor conditions). You'll find a lot of good breeders in sulit.com.ph and FB. Or ask PCFI.

Yes, they do have categories of best in breed and best in show.
